Danielle Young
Culinary Arts Teacher
Current Job & Responsibilities:
Lead the four-year culinary program at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School. I teach students the basics of culinary arts as well as introduce them to the professional side of the industry. We run a catering program as well as a student run café.
What I Learned From the HRTM Program:
There really are too many to list. But if I had to choose one thing I would say connections to professors and staff in HRTM. I have never been a part of a program that actually took the time to know you. Even after all this time the staff of HRTM still remember who I am. And that says everything about the program.
What I Most Enjoy About My Career:
Introducing my students to the fast paced world of the foodservice industry and seeing the moment it becomes a passion for them as well.
Memorable Experience:
Mentoring my culinary team in ProStart and watching them win first place in the State ProStart Competition and getting to take them to Nationals. They were the second team at our school to win a state championship.
Experience:
Mostly front of the house restaurant jobs. As well as management positions for Marriott International and Catalina Restaurant Group.
