Christina K. Dimitriou
Dr. Dimitriou is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and Certified Online Instructor who has been teaching undergraduate and graduate tourism and hospitality courses face-to-face, online, and hybrid for over twenty-five years in Europe and the United States. Her expertise includes but is not limited to curriculum development and course design to reflect current industry trends in order to give students the best possible path to success. She brings extensive experience from the European hotel industry, having served in a wide range of departments and leadership roles—from front office operations to general management. Her exceptional leadership and administrative acumen are reflected in a number of impactful achievements: transforming an abandoned building in Greece into a thriving hotel, spearheading the design and development of a comprehensive hospitality management program in Northern California, and holding academic appointments at universities across the globe. She has strong ties with the hotel industry worldwide and has significant experience in securing local, regional, national, and international internships and job placements for both graduate and undergraduate students, as well as supporting their participation in study abroad programs. In addition, she has in-depth experience with accreditation systems, particularly AACSB and ACPHA, and has served on numerous committees at the department, college, and university levels.
Dr. Dimitriou is a strong supporter and promoter of hospitality ethics education both through her research and teaching. She specializes in ethical leadership grounded in integrity and ethical responsibility, with particular emphasis on cultivating inclusive excellence and belonging across organizations. Her research portfolio encompasses an impressive array of scholarly contributions, including numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading hospitality and tourism journals, invited chapters in esteemed academic volumes, and a sustained presence at both national and international conferences. She has maintained active engagement at these forums through poster sessions, oral presentations, and invited keynote addresses, demonstrating the breadth and recognition of her scholarly impact. She also holds several editorial positions in the tourism and hospitality field, demonstrating her dedicated commitment to advancing scholarly research and fostering community engagement on a global scale. She is fluent in Greek, English, and French.
