Dr. Jean Hertzman is the Director of the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management appointed in January 2016. As Director, she coordinates and evaluates all activities related to undergraduate and graduate instruction for the department, faculty research, and student & extension services outreach. Additionally, she oversees the management of the school's student-run 100 West Café, the Bobby Lee Lawrence Academy of Wine, and the Marriott Hospitality Futures Center. She serves as the chair for the University Alcohol Review Committee, and is a Professor and student mentor in addition to her role as Director.

Dr. Hertzman has a clear and proven passion for education, culinary and beverage expertise and appreciation, and a true sense of hospitality to everyone she mentors and serves as an administrator, an instructor, and in outreach to the community. Among her many accolades, she is an award winning and published researcher and writer, Certified Culinary Educator, and Specialist of Wine. She previously taught at the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the National Center for Hospitality Studies at Sullivan College in her hometown of Louisville, KY.
