Current Job & Responsibilities:
I currently work for Auberge resorts, where I oversee all finance and accounting for multiple resorts at Auberge. I am responsible for annual budgeting, business planning & strategy, forecasting, month close, capital expenditure planning, internal controls, and owner relations.
What I Learned From the HRTM Program:
The HRTM program provided me with a strong foundation to begin my career in the hotel industry. The program perfectly paired classroom training with real world experience and helped spark my interest in the hospitality and tourism field.
What I Most Enjoy About My Career:
I enjoy making the complex world of finance and accounting simple and easy to understand for non-financial leaders; through training and coaching on property teams. In short, I like making financials accessible and fun. My career in hospitality has allowed me the avenues to follow my interests in travel, culture, and discovery.
Memorable Experience:
There are so many. In aggregate, my most memorable experiences have been the many people I have met throughout my career and moving to different locations in multiple states: CO, MA, TX and CA.
Experience:
Born and raised in Las Cruces, I began my management career in hotel operations and later found my passion in the finance discipline. I worked for Marriott for over 20 years in various hotels and locations. A few years ago, I had the unique opportunity to work for a start-up hotel group and launch innovative new hotel brands, called Bode and Drift. I now work for Auberge and am proud to represent multiple luxury properties in California. I consider myself a life-long learner and returned to higher education to earn my Executive MBA at UC Irvine in 2018.
